About the leather the process

I work mainly with Minerva and Buttero leather, premium full-grain hides sourced from Italian tanneries certified by the Pelle Conciata al Vegetale Consortium. I choose these tanneries for their dedication to traditional vegetable tanning, responsible production, and attention to detail. This leather is known for its rich texture, durability, and the way it develops a beautiful patina with use. My goal is to work with materials that age well and are made with the same care and intention I put into every piece. Each piece is made start to finish by hand in my small workspace located in Washington State. I cut every panel individually, hand-stitch using traditional saddle stitching for strength, and finish the edges through sanding, burnishing, and conditioning for a smooth, refined look. This slower process allows me to control every detail and ensure that each item feels solid, well-crafted, and made to last.
